6th, 7th, and 8th grade Field Day--Info coming home soon (Wednesday)

Field Day for 6th, 7th, 8th graders: Friday, June 13th, 2014
Please read and sign all permissions

May 19th, 2014

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The Middle Grades teachers at Bache-Martin are pleased to announce the return of an end-of-the-year Field Day for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.  We have not had this activity for about three years, but it was always a great event and we think our students deserve a fun day at the end of the year.
On Friday June 13th we will walk to the Von Colln Field at 22nd  Street and Pennsylvania Avenue at about 11:00 am for lunch and activities. The Fairmount Fieldhouse will be open that day for bathroom use and to sell food (all beef hot dogs, hamburgers, water, sodas, and snacks), but students may bring their own lunch as well.
Students may also bring their own athletic equipment with them for games during free time (students are responsible for the transportation and safety of their own equipment).  Students may also want to bring a beach towel or picnic blanket to sit on.  We will also have activities such as sack races, three-legged races, and an egg-toss.
For safety reasons, we can only allow students that have responsible school behavior to go with us to Field Day. We want to take as many students as possible, so please remind your child of responsible and appropriate school behavior every day.
We will need some parent/guardian chaperones (over 21 only)—please sign the attached sheet if you are able to help us out.
Students will have a relaxed dress code that day (see rules on the back of this letter), please make sure your child follows those rules so they will be able to accompany us.
Attached are a permission slip and a signature page. If you would like your child to attend Field Day please read and sign all permissions.
We are looking forward to a fun day at Von Colln Field!

Sincerely,

C. Kelley-Taylor, Y. Drayton, T. Allen, K. Luebbert, and J. Rupertus
